Forage & Fill: A Sweet (and Screen-Free) Summer Activity

Some of the best summer memories aren't made in front of a screen, they're made with sticky fingers, flower-filled pockets, and a little bit of imagination.

This season at Gracie Lou, we're inviting littles and their grownups to try one of our favorite simple joys: Forage & Fill. It's a sweet nature-inspired craft that is equal parts creative play and memory making.

What is Forage & Fill?

It's as simple as it sounds, your little one picks up a paper craft template (think vase, butterfly, or even a lamb), and then fills it with real flowers they gather from a backyard or from a nature walk.

There's no pressure. No supplies needed. Just a moment to slow down, look around, and create something beautiful with what's already growing.

Where to Find the Free Templates

Our Forage & Fill templates are available in-store, each week, during Farmer's Market hours in both Hollidaysburg and Bedford. Each week we'll feature a few different designs, some new, some returning favorites (like our signature Gracie Lou lion).

  • Hollidaysburg: Tuesdays during the Farmer's Market from 11am to 2pm
  • Bedford: Wednesdays during our open hours from 10am to 5pm

Templates are designed for ages 3 and up, and there's no need to bring anything. Just grab one and take it with you on your next flower-filled adventure.

Try It at Home

Not local? No worries. You can make your own Forage & Fill activity at home with a piece of cardboard from a box or even a cereal box. Draw a simple vase, poke a few holes, and let your littles fill it with blooms from their own backyard. Easy, meaningful, and totally free.
